Tour Overview
Day 1
LAKE NAKURU EXPRESS (1 Day)
Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160 km drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending the escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift. Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by an extensive tour which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingos but which also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the park abounds. On the tea break among the fever trees bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of bird life. The tour ends in Nairobi in the late evening.
Day 2
AMBOSELI EXPRESS (1 Day)
Amboseli National Park lies within the shadow of the mighty Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain whose peak may be seen from the park in clear weather. Only nature and all her majesty could create such a back -drop to the wildlife pageant found at Amboseli. Game is seen enroute to the park, which crosses plains where the Masai tribesmen tend their cattle in an age-old tradition. Lunch is taken at a lodge within the park, followed by another game drive where lion, cheetah can be seen including elephant and hippo that are found bathing in the swamp-grounds which get their waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to Nairobi in good time for dinner.
Day 3
Mt. Longonot And Lake Naivasha (1 Day)
Leave Nairobi City – The concrete Jungle and drive westwards stopping at the viewpoint on the Great Rift Valley and view the Loita Plains and also from here you can see Lake Naivasha sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. Then proceed to Lake Naivasha (and this is the highest Lake in The Rift Valley). Also Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930’s as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London.
You can have a boat ride to the Crescent Island (An option activity).
N.B. Crescent Island is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among hers of Zebra, Wildebeest, Gazelle, and Giraffe, because of the absence of predators.
Day 4
AMBOSELI (1½ Days)
Day 1 Nairobi/Amboseli
Early morning departure for Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Mt. Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop, can be seen from the park in clear weather. A variety of plains game, antelopes and birds can be seen plus the jumbo elephants and hippos which are found bathing in the swamp grounds which get their waters from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Amboseli/Nairobi
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast depart for Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon.
Day 5
Hell’s Gate (1 Day)
Depart early in the morning and drive through the Rift Valley (with lunch in Naivasha). Proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park past Fishers Tower. You will visit the Geothermal Power Plant at Ol Karia and the Hot Springs. Hell’s gate is the only park that officially allows transport by walking and bicycling. The small perimeters of the park give you a chance to see a variety of wildlife. Hereafter you’ll return back to Nairobi.
Day 6
One night at ‘The Crater Lake’, Naivasha
This is a luxurious tented camp on the lakeshore less than 2 hours drive from Nairobi. The final resting place of lady Diane Delamere widely renowned as Kenya’s most romantic tented camp with shrilling night game drives with expert trackers.
Day 1
9.30 A.M. depart from our Nairobi office driving south via the Great Rift valley enjoying the panoramic views enroute. Lunch upon arrival. Siesta time then afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner followed by night game drives.
Day 2
Pre-breakfast game viewing drive followed by continental breakfast and then drives back to Nairobi expected to arrive in time for lunch at own cost.
