3 Days Gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up by our guide from the airport/your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala / Kigali after an early morning breakfast at 07:00hrs. You will be briefed about the whole safari before you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable which is found in the southwestern part of Uganda. Along the way there is a local drum and craft making community so you will have a visit here.

Then a stopover at the Equator to take photos, also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs as you head to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch from. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check in at the lodge, relax in the evening and have Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Forest

You will wake up early have breakfast at the lodge and with your packed lunch meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the expectations, rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people for each habituated gorilla group depending on your interests and physical fitness. Each group of 8 people will be allocated a park guide at 8:00am you will start trekking in the jungle where you will have views of the vegetation, tree species, bird species among others. Gorilla trekking will take about 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorilla family is located and once the gorilla family has been found you will spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habit learning more about their lifestyle, behaviors, taking photos with flash less camera, recording videos among other.

After having an encounter with the gorilla family you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide. In case you have a short gorilla trekking activity you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale town which is the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest lake in Africa. At Lake Bunyonyi you will participate in canoeing where you will have beautiful views of the landscape, lake, islands, terraces, farmlands, bird species among other which gives you fascinating and breathtaking experiences. After canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala

You will wake up and have a relaxed breakfast with beautiful views of the islands and mist covering the water. After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara district, which has a mini-museum with displays of different cultural practices of different tribes in Uganda.

After lunch you will continue the journey to the equator for photos where you will view many craft shops which sell handmade products, Art pieces, and souvenirs. From the equator you will proceed to Kampala and the driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience or drop you off at Entebbe airport for your next flight.

5 Days Gorilla and wildlife

Day 1: Travel to Lake Queen Elizabeth National Park

Pickup by our guide from the airport or hotel. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda. Located in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, the park is a hidden gem that offers great opportunities for wildlife viewing. You will have lunch enroute. While entering the Queen Elizabeth National Park, keep an eye out for any game that you may come across. Some of the animals in the park include the Elephants, a variety of antelopes, buffaloes, hippos and many others. In the evening you will go for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel, a place known to have a high concentration of hippos in Africa. During the launch trip, expect to see animals that include crocodiles, hippos and water birds. Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge (Budget) / Enganzi Lodge (Midrange) / Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury)

Day 2: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will go for an early morning game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the drive you will be able to see various animals. Some of the animals to look out include lions, elephants, Uganda Kobs, topis, duikers and so many others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for breakfast and then lunch. Relax at the lodge. Go for an evening game drive to look out for some more wild game. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, in south Western Uganda. The journey takes you through the Ishasha Sector, a place known for hosting the tree climbing lions. Try out your luck and look out for the cats that hang on the fig trees. Continue to Bwindi National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site protecting almost half of the world’s remaining population of the mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking

Gorilla tracking begins very early in the morning. Therefore after breakfast, you will be transfered to the outpost. Get briefed about gorilla tracking in Bwindi. Led by a ranger guide you will go for gorilla tracking within the impenetrable forest. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park not only hosts the mountain gorillas. It also hosts other primates that include chimpanzees, Lhoest monkey, black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey and many others. During the gorilla trek, you will encounter interesting flora as well. Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to 1 hour to see the endangered mountain gorillas. After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge. In the evening you will go for a guided forest walk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, travel to Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda. Though this is Uganda’s smallest national park, it is a rewarding destination given that it hosts some of the big five, a good variety of antelopes, and more. You will have lunch in Mbarara Town and then proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival you will go for a boat ride on the lake where you will be able to see various water birds and animals like the hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Mburo Eagles Nest (Budget) / Rwakobo Safari Lodge (Midrange) / Mantana Tented Camp (Luxury)

Day 6: Return Kampala

Go for an early morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. After the game drive you will have breakfast and embark on a return trip to Kampala. Make a stopover at the equator for photography and souvenirs. Arrive in Kampala in the evening. Arrival time on this day depends on time of your departure flight.

8 Day Uganda gorilla & wildlife safari to Lake Mburo, Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale

Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park-Wildlife viewing

Our driver guide will meet you in Kampala at 7:00 am and will drive west of the country to Lake Mburo National Park having a stopover at the drum makers center called Mpambire and also at the Equator to take photographs. When you reach the park have lunch at the lodge and set out for a game drive through the park where you will take a glance on different animals like the Zebras that are found almost everywhere in the park. Later in the evening head to the lodge for dinner and spend a night.
