13 – DAY BEST OF KENYA

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Today we pick you up in the morning and depart for Maasai Mara through the famous Rift Valley viewpoint for photos and viewing along the way with spectacular viewing sceneries, as you proceed for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve to arrive in time for lunch.

Depart for an afternoon game drive in this magnificent Park, which forms the same ecosystem with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.

Maasai Mara National Park is Kenya’s crown jewel of wildlife conservation — a vast expanse of golden plains, acacia-dotted landscapes, and winding rivers where the drama of the wild unfolds every single day. Located in the southwest of Kenya and forming the northern extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti, the Mara is one of the most spectacular safari destinations in the world.

Step into a world where lions rule the savannah, elephants roam in large herds, and cheetahs chase prey across open fields. The park is home to the legendary Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino – as well as countless other species, including giraffes, hyenas, jackals, and over 450 species of birds.

Return to the camp early evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Maasai Mara (Full Day)
After an early breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the vast and abundant wildlife of Maasai Mara. Accompanied by your expert guide, you will track game throughout the day, with a relaxing break for a picnic lunch at the famous Hippo Pool. The Mara is known for its impressive variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards (though sightings are rare), elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and zebras, among others. The Hippo Pool offers a prime location to observe hippos, and with some luck, you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks.

Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

On this day after breakfast, you will have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Maasai people with a visit to a traditional Maasai village.

A visit to a Maasai village (also called a Manyatta) in the Maasai Mara offers an authentic cultural immersion into the traditions, lifestyles, and wisdom of one of Kenya’s most iconic communities.

Upon arrival, you’re greeted with vibrant singing and dancing—a warm expression of welcome that often includes the famous adumu (jumping dance). The Maasai, dressed in their distinctive red shukas and adorned with intricate beadwork, offer a glimpse into their daily life – how they build their homes from mud and dung, herd cattle, and maintain ancient customs in the modern world.

Nature Walk with a Maasai Guide

One of the most enriching parts of the visit is a guided nature walk, led by a Maasai warrior. This short hike (typically 1–2 hours) through the savannah or nearby bushland opens your eyes to the land from a traditional perspective. Your guide shares:

How plants are used for medicine, hygiene, and rituals

Tracking techniques using animal prints, dung, and calls

Insights into coexisting with wildlife, including strategies for protecting cattle from predators

The walk is calm and interactive, offering a unique chance to see the Mara through Maasai eyes—not as tourists but as learners.

Depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, explore Lake Naivasha on a 1-hour boat tour.

Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here and explore the Crescent Island on foot. – This is a serene, wildlife-rich sanctuary ideal for walking safaris, vibrant birdwatching, and peaceful nature immersion. One of the standout features of Lake Bogoria Reserve is its geothermal activity. The area is renowned for its impressive hot springs and geysers, which add to the natural beauty of the reserve. The hot springs, with temperatures reaching up to 98°C, are scattered across the reserve and create steaming pools of water, often surrounded by lush vegetation.
